IT consulting so you know where to invest.

Caster Consulting provides vendor-neutral IT consulting for small and mid-sized companies: we carry out external IT audits with a written status report, build a tailored IT strategy and prioritised roadmap, and review your licences and contracts. The result is a clear plan of what to improve, when and at what cost, and where you can save.

Sound familiar?

Your IT works somehow, but nobody sees the whole picture.

In most companies IT has grown over the years through one-off decisions. An independent outside view shows where you stand today and what the next sensible step is.

01

There is no accurate picture of your systems

Nobody knows for sure which servers, software and access rights exist, what is outdated and where the risks are.

02

IT costs keep rising, but it is unclear what for

Licences, subscriptions and service contracts pile up, and some of them are no longer used by anyone.

03

Investment decisions are made case by case

Whatever problem is most pressing gets the attention; there is no prioritised plan for what comes next and what it costs.

04

New requirements arrive and it is unclear what to do

NIS2, data protection, artificial intelligence: management has to make decisions, but lacks an independent expert opinion.

Consulting areas

An independent view, with concrete proposals.

We do not sell hardware or licences, so we recommend what genuinely pays off for your company.

External IT audit

A review of your entire IT environment and related processes, assessing efficiency and risks, with a written status report.

E.g. before a change of management, an acquisition or a change of provider

IT strategy and roadmap

A tailored IT strategy and prioritised roadmap: what, when and at what cost. It also covers where AI and automation pay off.

E.g. a 1–3 year development plan

Licence and cost optimisation

Reviewing and rationalising existing licences and service contracts, and finding cheaper or free alternatives.

E.g. tidying up Microsoft 365 plans

Infrastructure design

Designing and sizing server and network infrastructure, and finding the right balance between cloud and on-premises.

E.g. before replacing servers or moving to the cloud

Data protection and NIS2

Data protection and backup solutions, access management, and readiness for the NIS2 cybersecurity requirements.

E.g. NIS2 compliance gap analysis

Selection and tender support

Vendor-neutral selection of systems and providers, requirements lists, comparison of bids, proposals for introducing new services.

E.g. choosing a new ERP system

IT leadership on demand

If you have no IT manager of your own, we take on the role on a monthly basis: preparing decisions, managing providers and tracking delivery of the plan.

The outcome

See where you stand, and what comes next.

The audit shows the weak spots; the plan shows where the company can get to, and in what order. Every step comes with its reason and its timing.

What you receive

In writing, ready for decisions.

Written status report

An overview of systems, processes and risks in plain language, with a management summary.

Prioritised roadmap

What is worth doing, when and at what cost, in order of priority.

Unused licences, overlapping services and cheaper alternatives, itemised with the estimated saving.

FAQ

What people ask about IT consulting.

How much does an IT audit cost?

The audit is fixed-price, depending on the size of the company and the number of systems. If we also help implement the recommendations, we quote that item by item.

How independent is your advice?

We are fully vendor-neutral: we receive no commission from hardware or software vendors, so we recommend whatever gives your company the best value for money.

What experience do you have?

Our team members have worked on IT projects for more than 10 years, including in the USA, Brazil, Portugal, France, China and Hungary. A senior consulting core works together with an expert network, and you have a single point of contact.

What does IT leadership on demand mean?

An experienced consultant takes on the IT manager’s tasks on a monthly basis: preparing decisions, managing providers and following up on projects. You receive transparent reports on the work from our own ticketing system.

Do you treat our company data confidentially?

Yes. On request we also sign a non-disclosure agreement; we access only the data the audit requires, and share the report only with the people you name.
